Summer has come to end and so have my excuses! Although I managed to maintain my weight for the most part, I have NOT been able to maintain the healthy habits that I had so diligently established the first six months of this year! I am not happy about that and have decided that today is the day I am putting my foot down. No more excuses for making bad food choices! No more excuses for not taking the time to exercise!
So many times this summer I said to myself...okay, tomorrow you will get back on track. And then it was the next day, and then the next day, and so on and so forth. FRUSTRATING for sure!! I could feel myself slipping back into those bad habits and I did not like it. And this time I can NOT blame it on "baby" fat...it will be ALL me!! YIKES!
I don't have a specific weight in mind, but I do have a specific image in mind. It's not crazy skinny or anything like that, but definitely fit and trim! And really there is no reason not to eat healthy on a regular basis whether you want to lose weight or not. I pledged to make this a permanent lifestyle but apparently my little brain thought it was okay to take a summer vacation. Well, break is over lady!!! Get up off your tushy and get to work!!!
So here goes...today is essentially 'Day One' for me all over again. I am happy to report that I have made good choices all day today! I even put in 15 minutes of exercise before I woke the kids up for school and walked a good mile this afternoon while Sammy was in his speech class! Even though it's not easy it sure feels good to get back to this healthy way of living. I hope that I can continue to be an encouragement to all my family and friends. They sure have been encouraging to me!
